Hernia Problem

I had a hernia repair done to my belly button area a few years back prior to wls....it never bothered me. It was found during my hysteromy.
However, my husband (not a wls patient) has just had 2 hernia surgeries this summer. He too had a small tear at the belly button and the surgeon said the smaller the tear the more it will hurt. He is a UPS driver and with all the bending and lifting he was told to get it fixed ASAP.
Now, since you are post op sugery I would wait...like the other lady mention it will help you get a TT with your surgery. Just follow instructions by your trainer...trust me when more weight keeps dropping off you will want that TT...!!!
Good luck to you.

Hi Julia,
I have a history of hernias. I had one in my naval area that was repaired during my gallbladder surgery in 1985, which was 9 months after a c section. Then in Jan 05 during WLS my surgeon found three and was able to only repair two of them. Currently I have a small one in the upper part of my tummy. I workout but wear an elastic support garment to not cause myself any problems.
