Any wls support groups in the Akron area?

Hi everyone. My name is Amanda, and I live in Akron. I am scheduled for my wls (the BPD/DS) with Dr. Maguire in Dayton Ohio for September 22. I was wondering if there are any wls support groups up here in Akron that I can attend? I understand that there may not be one for my surgery type, but I figure any group is good. Amanda; I am from Akron but I attend the one at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Hallowell is my surgeon. (DOS 8/3/05) I really enjoy going. The doctors and nurses are usually there for questions too. 1-216-844-5961. I think Summa has one but I have not been there. When you log onto to this site and go local scroll down to the bottom. Amanda, There is a support group that meets in North Canton. It is at the Perkin's Resturaunt down from Belden Village. It is always on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. It is affiliated with St. Vincent's in Cleveland but anyone can come. I too went to University Hospital in Cleveland and think that their support groups are the best! I do like the fact that the doctors and nurses make themselves accessable to us at the meetings. They really care about their patients. If you want any more info about the Tuesday group please feel free to ask! Sue
