An OB/Gyn familiiar with RNY patients in Columbus?
Hi everyone,
I had lap RNY with Dr. Mikami on 6/24/05. I have lost 112 pounds so far. One of the reasons I had this surgery was to become pregnant someday, and that day is getting closer, hopefully. With Dr. Mikami's permission, he said that its ok to become pregnant within 6-12 months, but to find an OB/Gyn who is familiar with patients who have had RNY. I am in the process of doing that right now. Because of my past medical history, Dr. Mikami said I should consult with an OB/Gyn way before I try to become pregnant.
Does anyone have any experience with an OB/Gyn in Columbus who is good, and who is familiar/comfortable/knowledgeable with RNY patients? Any advice is much appreciated!
Jenny
Hi Jenny. I am very particular about my doctors. I only see doctors who work through OSU. I did this before using Dr. Needleman and it was just a plus that he was in the OSU circle. One nice thing is that they have access to your medical records right in the computer for ALL OSU doctors you have seen.
I see Dr. Trout in Dublin. He is part of OSU. When I saw him last I mentioned that I was going to have the surgery and he seemed to know a lot about it. You might want to give me a try. I have been with him for a long time. I was undiagnosed with thyroid disease for about 7 years and he found it. He also found a problem with my cervix that my old doctor had missed.
Good luck!
