Gas feeling in stomach

I have a gas feeling in my stomach all the time, and sometimes I get these gas pains. I have not been able to go to the bathroom on my own since I had surgery. They only way that I can go is to take a laxative. I am 6 1/2 weeks post op. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do about this gas feeling?

Hi Michelle, I'm sorry to hear you having gas problems. Have you called Dr. Maguire's office to see what he suggests? I'm scheduled to have a DS with Dr. Maguire and they warned me already about gas as a post-op (early in the recovery time) and suggested Gas-X. But, I'm not sure if it would be the same with the RNY. I hope they can give you some suggestions. Take care of yourself. Denise

Hi Michelle, I had surgery the same day as you. I also had RNY. Sorry to hear you are having this problem. My surgeon also suggested gas x, and he gave me a perscription that really helped get things moving. I have been able to go on my own for about a week now. I suggest you ask your Doctor what he thinks you should do. Good luck. Julie
