Well its been two weeks for me I've only lost 15 pounds, i say only b/c i wi**** was more but at the same time I prayed about my depression and im kinda glad now its comming off slow. I feel this gives time for me to work out and my skin will snap back alot better than it would if i were loosing it fast. I've heard the more you way and the faster you lose the weight the better chance you have of havign excess skin. After a c-section and this surgery i dont wanna think about going under the knif anytime soon to have skin removed , so i hope and pray a lot of my skin goes back into place. Atleast well enough to get a man, i wouldnt want to scare anybody LOL. I mean hey im only 23 I need to begin a new happy life, I've been so bogged down w/ my weight and being a single mom for so long, I've been to insacure to be in another relationship after my sons father. Well i dont wanna write a book, i just wanted to let you all know how i'm doing after two weeks. I have to admitt, for some reason I've had the worst moodswings, I'm so mean to everyone ,be for i realize it. I'm not a mean person. Also everything is just so nasty to me, I mean i never relized how nasty flavor water w/ nothing but sodium in it taste, be4 i used to love it.But any way besides all that im doing fine, I went and seen my primary dr yesterday, she thinks im going to be one of those people that start out loosing there weight slow them boom it will start comming off so fast. But i dont wanna ru**** I know it will come off sooner or later, or I'll just be a mad sista w/ a small pouch. LOL I will catch up with you all later! God Bless LOve Adrienn

Hi Adrienn! I had my surgery on 6/21 and lost about 14 lbs in 2 weeks, too....I am thrilled! I haven't had my follow up yet - thats next week. Congrats on your acheivement! I know what you mean though - nothing tastes good to me except plain, ol' ice water! I see from your profile that you are a hair stylist....Me too! Except I don't work in a salon anymore. Now I have a desk job for a major haircare manufacturer in the state. I miss doing hair but like the benefits of my job now! Good luck to you! Laura

Ladies....i do believe the first two weeks post op is not any indication of how fast you are going to lose in the over all time of loss....the first two weeks post op you are dealing with the body trying to heal after major surgery and you could actually gain in that two weeks from swelling and water retention. Perhaps it would be better to wait for two months and see how much you have lost and more realistically base your estimates on that length of time. I know i havent had my surgery yet so you might think i am full of hot air, but i have had abdominal surgery before and i know i had swelling as a result of it in the surgical area. Give your body a real chance to recover then see how you feel and how you lose then. I wish you the best of luck and will pray for your recover and attaining your goals. Smile and hug Ruth

I also had surgury on 6/20 I lost 14 lbs the first week, and 3lbs the next. My doctor told me that I would be moody because estrogen is stored in fat. and as we lose weight we lose estrogen. Therefore we have an attitude. talk to my husband he will tell you all about it. I love the Crystal light that you can put in your bottled water. I try to buy the 24oz waters and add a raspberry and a lemonade together in my opionion it is quite tasty. My next followup is at 6wks. My weight is coming off slowly also, I hope it stops the flabby skin. It's nice to talk to a sistah who also had surgery there is not a lot of us out there!
