OK I go to see my surgeon on the 12th, WOO HOO only 5 more days, for my first visit. Now I have already received my approval from Insurance, physical therapist, PCP, and phyc. I have to meet with the dietitian on the 15th of July. My question is does anyone have Dr. White as there surgeon and do you know what kind of vitamins he recommends for after surgery? I would really like to stock up on those and protein drinks before surgery so my hubby won't get boggled with all that information. He will already be taking care of the 5 kids and that is gonna be about all he can handle..... But I love him. Even if Dr White is not your surgeon I would love to know what vitamins you are taking. No info for you but I just wanted to say good luck!..I have not gotten insurance approvial but I have my first surgeon appointment on the 29th. I have 6 children, 4 still at home so I know what you mean about the husband taking care of all of them. He can't now when I go to the grocery store so it's going to be interesting how he's going to do if I have this surgery... Good luck to you and pray that I get approved!

Debbie, You are sooooo right about that. Mine are age 15, 13, 11, 9, and 8. I went to the store last night and when I got home it looked like they had a party in the house during the 2 hours I was gone. Thank God it only took one look to him to let him know to get it taken care of. His only excuse was we were having fun we will get it cleaned up. He is just as big of a kid as the rest of them. Good luck on getting yours approved. and I hope to see you on the losing side. My prayers are with you. Rocquetta

and then that night is the support mtg, right? I don't have the newsletter here with me @ work, but then we can meet. Tell ya what, I'll bring you some samples of protein I have here, there is no reason for you to go spend tons of $ on proteins right now. Your tastes will change. I bought GNC's ANY WHEY right before surgery - couldn't stand the stuff - now It's good, mixes well, I use it in drinks and protein balls and different foods. I also use the Profect - I was NOT getting my protein in before I found that. I also have samples of other things, that I'm not too fond of, but you might be - all of our tastes are different! (but email me and don't let me forget to bring the samples!) Shannon (diet/Nut) will tell you what vit's she want's you to use after surgery, each Dr and Nut are different there also. I now use Upcal D- pill form that I buy reasonably priced from K-mart, I also use their brand of multi-vit as it contains everything and the same amount as Centrium. Hmm that's all I take for vit's - well I do 3 upcal a day and 2-3 multi's. As far as the kids go... train yer hubby now.. I only had 1 at home when I had surgery and good thing he is 13 cause I was not cooking much. He fended for himself a lot in those early days. Still does unfortunately as I work and he is home all day alone. Want him for the summer? I mean what' s 1 more? I do not feel well today - for the 1st time I had taco bells pintos & cheese and the meat from 1 of their taco's last night and OMG I woke up at 3 am sicker than ... well and

I wasn't sure when the supprot meeting was. I still haven't received the newsletter yet. The samples will be greatly appreciated. And I will make sure I email you on monday to remind you. About the hubby. He is an awsome cook, when he cooks, and even does his job at keeping the house together. He did it before when I had my gallbladder out in 97 at that time my youngest was just over a year old and his mom only came over once to help out but that was becasue he had to take me back to the doctors. I just like giving him a hard time. And sure I will take another one. On top of my 5 that I have every day I also have 5 others that I watch on a daily basis. I usually have other kids from 5AM to 11PM Monday - Friday so it will also be a nice break from baby sitting when I do have my surgery. I hope you feel better soon. Again thank you so much for always answering my questions. Rocquetta

Seems that many doctors do chewables for the first 8 weeks. There's really no set pattern from one doc to the next, but overall chewables seems to be the biggie. I used Flintstones. I take Solgar brand Formula VM-75 (It's a multi-vitamin with chelated minerals), Solgar brand Calcium Magnesium Citrate, Solgar brand Gentle Chelated Iron and a sublingual B-12 that I got at Walmart. I have used Citracal and prescript pre-natal vitamins but was told any good multi-vitamin would work. I recommend doing some surfing online, the pricing between one place to another can be pretty large. HTH, -Anne 375/245/155
