I'm so embrassed I been banded since Nov and Have been doing ok, down 40 lbs, exercise and eat 800 calories, 70 grams of protein +. I now have 2cc's in my band which I did have trouble adjusting to. I have been able to eat and its been staying down. There is a wonderful low carb store which has some frozen dinner, small sizes. I had one tonight and after 2 bits it started hurting. I should have just stopped but I thought I need more so I continued. Well, I started to slim and PB really bad it took about 1/2 hour to get everything up. YUK If I tell my doctor this he will be mad at me and start telling me about overeating yada yada yada. But, I didn't over eat, it was less then 1/2 cup. I have eaten this before with no problems so why now. I'm so scared that my band will slip and I don't want that to happen. How do I explain the situation to my doctor? Dr. C. What would you tell you patient? You seem to kind and understanding. I have been following all the rules but there are those moments. Thanks for listening

Cindi, This sounds more like a dietary intolerance than anything, I would advise you to go over to our web site and post a message for Erin our dietitian - she has a band herself and is really an expert. The site is new you real you dot com. If it happens on a regular basis, your band is probably too tight but it sounds like it's an infrequent occurence. Hi Cindi, you dont have to be afraid of anyone, especially your doctor. They are human too, just ask Dr.C. If your doctor yells at you then you call me,I will certainly put him in his place. Why are we so afraid of doctors? The only difference is they have a degree. You are just normal and we have to learn what we can tolerate. It takes months to learn but we learn everyday something new. I am a year out and believe me,I dont eat perfectly everyday. None of us are perfect and we never will be. Relax a little and enjoy this wonderful experence but dont ever be afraid of anyone, especially your doc. He is working for you dont forget. love cindy

Cindi, I agree - your doctor is someone you should be able to turn to when you need help. After all, he is a health professional, and you are having health questions. And, everyone's experience is different - some can tolerate this or that, others cannot. So I am thinking you should call and either talk to the surgery nurse, or ask the doc to call you ... I'm sure they would prefer to talk to you a few times rather than have you get sick or have more problems! And definitely check out that website info from Dr. C. Hugs, Kitty B. Cindi, dont be nervous, one of my nursing instructors said something to me about doctors that I try to remember every day...."everyone puts their pants on the same way"....think about it and if you need to tell your doctor do so...He should be there to help not hurt. Pam..
