Surgery scheduled & I'm reeeeaaaalllllllllllllly nervous!
Hi Kelly,
I am having WLS on 7/8 also, so I am sooo glad you asked this question! The only things I was told to bring to the hospital were my CPAP machine, all of my meds, a pillow to ease the bumpiness on the way home and comfy clothes to wear home. So the ideas given here were good to know!
I am getting Lap Band so I'll only be there one night, but I'll be thinking about you and wishing you well from my hospital bed!
Good luck!
Cindy,
Funny you should mention that....LOL No, I don't think that it is going to his head at all. That is one of the first things that I noticed and have said to anyone that would listen. That he is not ****y or arrogant. Just confident in what he does and great at it as well. And like my husband says..."It is not bragging, if you can do it" I am sure that Dr. Curry is proud of the work he does, and of all the kudos he is getting, but I don't think he lets it go to his head, his heart maybe....
We are a lucky group....his patients, aren't we? I am twice lucky, my PCP is the same way. I can't wait to meet you Cindy, at the Cincinnati event! It is going to be great fun!

Take care and God Bless

Hi Kelly, you don't need much at the hospital. Hair brush/comb, toothbrush, the suggestion about comfy clothes for the ride home was good and the pillow. You need the pillow in the hospital too for coughing. Take something small (like a throw pillow or travel pillow, its easier to hold over your incision). It was suggested to me to take handwipes/towelettes, and that is a good thing, since you don't want to have to get up everytime you want to wash your hands. Just a small pack is good. If you are on CPAP take that and meds, if you have a pill crusher, take that. I got chewable vits before I went to the hospital, but don't get too many drinks as you don't always know which ones you will like later. I sent you an email also. chris
