Mission Accomplished!!

Well, i was supposed to have my surgery 6/16, but it was delayed due to my PCP. Anyway, the wonderful Dr. Curry fit me in after his vacation and I had my surgery Monday 6/27 and left the hospital 6/29, all before the end of the insurance calender year. I stayed at the Vernon Manor hotel and saw Dr. Curry on Friday for removal of my drain tube and clearance to come back to Columbus. Well, I feel great!!! I'm not hungry and had 2oz of apple juice mixed with 2 oz of water for dinner that I had to make myself drink. I bet some of you are wondering if it was worth the 2 hour drive. first of all, it doesn't really take a full 2 hours from the southside of Columbus to get to Cincy. Dr. Curry, his staff, and the hospital and staff were great!! When I left the hospital, a nurse's aide ran up to the car to give me a big hug and say goodbye. Plus, I had to promise to visit the floor when I'm there on check ups. Everytime I walked they stated how good I looked and that they were so proud of me. Plus Dr. Curry never says I or they, it's always us, we, or the team. So, was it worth 2 hours, heck yes!! I would have driven 4. Thanks to all of you for all of your support. Now I can proudly say that I'm on the loosing side!

congratulations Sharyn. I know how you feel about Dr.Curry and his staff. They make us feel like we are somebody dont they? Like we are the most important people in the world. Its the way we wish all doctors would treat us. The way we should be treated. He is a wonderful doctor and I respect him so much. He really picked the right profession didnt he? We are very lucky and blessed. Good luck with this journey and we will always be here to help with anything,just ask. One day at a time,thats the key. Dear Sharyn, I am so happy that you beat the insurance company and had your surgery. I am also so happy that you were treated so well by Dr Curry and his staff. I am not even one of his patients but I wouldnt of expected less. He is a treasure!! And look you have so much of the summer left to get out and enjoy and heal!!! Welcome to us bunch of losers.. Sharyn, Thanks for the compliments, our nurses up there thought you were a real sweetheart and had a nice positive attitude. I know you had to wait a week or so longer than you wanted, but it all worked out great in the end! It never ceases to amaze me how a 45 minute operation and 48 hours in the hospital can make such a tremendous difference in people's lives! Dr. C

Hi, I'm so glad everything went well and you are back home in Columbus. I sat next to you in the nutrition class and have been thinking about you and it was so good to see your post.
