I have always posted on the main board, but I thought I would pop in and ask you fellow Ohioans for your input. What I'm looking for are those of you post-ops who went thru Barix in Groveport, Oh. I had my consult with Dr. Viglianco on June 24, 2005 and I would like some feedback on how satisfied you were with your results and their office staff and procedure---i.e., How long did it take for them to submit your paperwork? How often did you call to check on the status? Was the office staff patient with you, or did they make you feel as if you were a pest? (I'm asking b/c I called yesterday the reseptionist couldn't tell me whether or not my paperwork had been faxed to my insurance co yet and sent me to a voicemail system and I still haven't heard from anyone today. So, I called my ins co and they say that they haven't yet received anything, so I'm a little miffed, but it is a holiday weekend, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I'm soooooooo eager to have this surgery now that I finally made up my mind, ya know?) Hopefully my ramblings made sense. . . Thanks for any help!!

I had a wonderful experience with them. I had Dr.Barbara, but I have also seen Dr. Vig they are all great. I got my approval in two weeks with them, I had UHC. There is a different number to call to check up on the submission. They actually fax everything to michigan (I think that is where it is located) and they submit it to the insurance company. Barix was really great! Afterwards you get a special number to call if you have any questions or concerns and the surgeon calls you back within 15 min. The majority of the people that work at Barix all have had the surgery. I just can't say enough about how great they are. If you need more info let me know I will try to answer any questions you have. Hugs, Lisa P.S. We are having a support group meeting at Barix on Tues July 5 from 6-8:30pm you are more than welcome to come, it is for preops and postops even for people who have not had there surgery there.

My initial meeting with Dr. Viglianco was April 7th, and I immediately liked him. He put me and Mom at ease and answered all of my questions, even the tiny, insignificant questions. Whenever I called Barix, I felt like I was being treated as if I was their only patient. I felt like they were easy to work with, always had the answers I needed, and were very friendly. My insurance was handled in a quick and timely manner. I never had to lift a finger...all the legwork was done by Barix. I was told it would take NO LESS THAN 30 days...but I think they had the okay from my insurance in just about 4 weeks, give or take. On a scale of one to ten, in ease-of-use: - Barix gets a 10+ - United Health Care gets a 14

Anyway...the bottom of my post that got cut off was about this: Surgery was Thur 6/23 and we were released on Sun 6/26. Mom asked to buy some Protein for Life, and was told, Sorry, the office is closed, it's Sunday. That set my Mom's hair on fire!! She said PATIENTS ARE RELEASED EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK! How can you not sell it to me? They apologized.... We have a 2-hour-40-minute drive from Mom's house (where I'm recuping) to Barix. It's not that much closer from my house! It's not like we can just run over to Barix for the heck of it, it eats up a whole day. My precious mommy was P*SSED when that happened. Julie

Hey Shannon, I also went through Barix and Dr.Barbara was my surgeon. I was approved within a month despite my HR screwing up my policy. I have UHC. The staff was very patient as I made ALOT of phone calls trying to get my insurance right. My experience at Barix was very good and I was pleased with my surgeon and the staff. Deri
