WELL IT REALLY HAPPENED! I'M AN OFFICIAL LOSER!!!!!
I made it through my surgery on the 23rd just fine and was able to come home saturday. I'm feeling pretty good except for I am a little sore where they yanked the old gall bladder from. Anyway, thanks to all that signed my support page.......I wasn't able to post till recently because I just moved before surgery so pc was down. I was honestly very surprised at how little pain has been involved........I expected and had prepared for the worst pain of my life! lol! Dr.Needleman is a god in my book and the OSU staff couldn't have been any nicer! I am sooooooooo excited, I can't wait for the pounds to start coming off!
Welcome to our side. Just take one day at a time. It takes really about six months to really know your pouch. You will feel good soon but I think it takes that long to really know what you are doing and how exactly how to eat. I have learned I dont order anything at a restaurant at all, and I just have a little of everyones. Im a pretty cheap date. Good luck and enjoy the next months ahead, the pounds just shed and it is so much fun. Love Cindy
Thank you Cindy! I can see it will take awhile to get this down. I took months of nutrition classes where I learned about post-op diet and all but now I believe it's a matter of getting to know your own body. I don't feel hungry and I don't really feel full but I do get this feeling where I know to when to stop. I'm sure I'm in for some up's and down's and I'm looking foward to the good and preparing for the bad. I know in the end the pay off will be great! Thanks for your support and congratulations to you on all your success!
Dawn
and to comment on what Cindy said, about 6 months to know your pouch.. well I thought I knew it, but things can change from day to day.
It's like suddenly I don't like that... I'm gonna be sick...Can I eat this?... and especially right now heading into foods again you'll find things do not taste like they used to. I was about 3 months out before water, tasted like water again.
Prayers and hugs,
