Dr. Patrick White did my surgery in December. I would recommend him to anyone. He knows what he is doing. I think that he is the best one in Toledo. Go to his seminar and see what you think. Best of luck to you!

Amy, There's a Barix Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Dr. Polawski will do my surgery. He is the director of the program. Go to http://www.barix.com and check them out. They have a wonderful program just 40 minutes away with several surgeons. Good luck! Luann

Hi Amy, I went to CORI in Warren Michigan it is a little over an hour from Toledo near Detroit. They have amazing surgeons I had Dr. Wood who has been doing WLS for many, many years. He and Dr. Sapala actually created the Sapala-Wood micropouch. They are awsome. and I have never had to drive up there for anything other than check ups. They have always been willing to let me have tests done locally as well. If you chose them you would have your surgery at Harper Hospital in downtown Detroit. They have regular seminars some are as close as Ann Arbor. Good luck with whomever you chose but I've had such a great experience I love to "pay it forward" whenever I can! If you look up Michigan surgeons CORI surgeons will definately come up. Personally I found there weren't really any surgeons close in Ohio anyways so I figured why not go to Detroit? Although I have heard Dr. Curry is wonderful and worth the trip. It was just a little too far for me though. Good luck. Marcy

I used to live in Northwood but have moved about an hour away to the Cleveland area. I am having surgery at the Cleveland Clinic for Bariatric Surgery (St. Vincent Charity Hospital). They have seminars in Perrysburg at the French Quarter. Google their website at St. Vincent Charity. Dr. Aviv Ben-Meir is the surgeon that currently does the adjustable gastric lap-band, but they do other bariatric surgeries as well. You should contact them for information or go to a seminar. It takes about 2 hours (traffic time) to get from the turnpike exit at I75 to the hospital.

Amy I went to Dr. Kokocharov in Findlay, and he was great. I live about an hour south of Findlay and chose to drive there. He and his whole staff are wonderful. You can contact him through Bariatric Solutions 419-429-7901. They have an informational seminar also that you can attend. I have nothing but praise to say about him and his staff. Hope this helps Aimee
