Well I'm offically on the loosing side! I'm just 4 days out and still in alot of pain......mostly though getting out of a chair and bed, I did go for a small walk this evening but didnt' want to push myself to far!! My eating is still rocky, I didn't realize how hard it was to figure out how much to eat, everyone says eat till you are full, but heck your never hungry to begin with!! I think I may have dumped last night from over eating because I had horrible chest pains and felt like something was stuck in my chest. But heck I only had maybe 6 bites of food, which I find out now is way to much!! I have done better today except this morning when I took my prevacid it seemed to get stuck and i barffed alot of water up, which hurt like heck, but made it through it!! I just need to watch my food consumption, I'm not eating alot, its just knowing when your full or not.......which I have found out to be 2-3 bite of something and thats it......boy what a change from last week!! Oh Well I guess I made the choice to do this right?? I have lost 9 pounds though since the evening before surgery, I didn't weigh myself till yesterday, which I wish i had the first day home because they say you gain from all the gas, but glad about the 9 lbs, I lost 4 just since yesterday!! I tell you what, its amazing!!! I wanted to thanks Paula and Valerie for coming to visit me in the hospital!! IT was great to see you guys, sorry I got tired right before you left.....darn morphine!! But thanks again for coming! Also, thanks to all of you for your prayers and concerns!! Your all great!! XOXOXOXO Tabitha

Tabitha, I am happy you are home and doing well. Trust me the tummy yucks do get better at about two weeks. But if they keep up, dont hesitate to call Doc. Janice at the office is the best about relaying information to Dr Mikami. I am proud of you on your weight loss and its going to astound you when you see it just melting off of you. My face looked like a normal thin person in 3 weeks. I am 5 weeks out and have lost 57 pounds. The Dr expected me to lose fast with my fast medgem rate. I started swimming yesterday and doing my water aerobics. It felt wonderful. I am heading back this morning to do it again. Since the pool is so close, I am going to try and go 2 times a day once my body adjusts. I just keep fantasizing that I wont have too much loose skin the more I excercise. And yes, most likely I am living in fantasy Island. But for now everything is intact and where it should be. I will keep you in my prayers that you get feeling better quickly Love ya Laura

I am glad to hear you say you never get hungry as well Vicki. I have to leave sticky notes around to remind myself to eat. It amazes me everyday that I dont have that crazy ravenous hunger I had constantly. I really dont have head hunger either yet, and pray I never do. I Love feeling like a normal person, not thinking about what the next snack or meal is. I still get full after 4-5 bites and it feels so good to be in control of when to stop and when enough is enough. I hope I never get hungry again, and just eat to nourish my body in a healthy way. Have a great day Vicki. Love and hugs Laura

Its funny at 11 months I am hungry. I never was but all of a sudden. I seem to eat a little more but I am happy I can. I just had a grilled cheese on very thin Pepperage Farm bread. It was so good. I ate the whole thing. 3 pieces of cheese and the bread equals i piece. When I eat a little more I can go to the bathroom. tmi I sometimes think eating is a pain but this day I am so hungry. now full. I have learned not to eat when its...8,12 or 6 sharp. Now I eat when I am hungry. I am starting to get it now lol. Bout time isnt it? It takes a long time to finally learn your pouch. We are very good friends now,my pouch and I, Cindy

Welcome aboard the losing train! I am sorry to hear you are having a few problems. I know what you mean it is hard to judge after you first have the surgery. I measure out 1/4 cup of everything. I seem to do better if I do that so I don't each to much. The pain will gradually go away. You are going to do great! I am sorry I did not make it the hospital, but I was still a little weak from being in the hospital myself. I still am having problems with my pouch, but I am learning day by day what I can and cannot eat. Have a great day! Talk to you soon! Hugs, Julie

Hi Julie, Don't worry about coming to the hospital, I know its still a little jont for you and you did just have surgery and was just in the hospital.....so don't worry about it, I'm just glad you are taking care of yourself and feeling better!!! I'm doing better everyday, I think its just gettting used to everything!! Hubby and I went to Walmart yesterday and walked around for 2 hours, I did good but my back is what gave me the most trouble, which I don't know why!! Anyway I came home, took a perkacet(sp) and took a nap, I really needed it!! But was proud of myself about getting out and stuff!! The weight loss is just amazing, I am now down to 281 from 299 and my surgery was only a week ago tomorrow...........thats 18 pounds in less then a week!! Never believed this would ever happen to me!! As far as my eating, I am eating 3 bites and thats it.......I'm full!! And I am very content with that!! SO my eating is alot better!! And yeAH! I finally had my first BM yesterday which was wonderful, who would have thought you'd be excited about a BM???????LOL Well thanks again for anything and if you need anything just email or call me!!
