Questions for all the post-ops
I know I'm a few days late, but better late than never
I wore a gown hospital gown the entire time. I was one of the lucky ones that had my period start (even though it wasn't time) so I was more than happy to not have to worry about my own stuff.
About protein drinks, think seriously about what kind of drinks that you like. I'd never really had anyone put it to me like this, but if they had, it would have helped me avoid stuff that made me wanna heave. Are you a chocolate, vanilla type person? Do you really enjoy fruit drinks, like fruit punch, lemonade and the like? Depending on which way you answer that will help you to narrow down your protein drink choice. I realized that I am definitely a chocolate, vanilla - rich shake person and absolutely not a fruit drink type. I used Unjury right after surgery. I also bought boxes of carb conscious carnation instant breakfast at GFS, you get a variety of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry to mix with the protein and carb countdown milk.
Seriously talk to your doctor ahead of time about gas relief. I had open, but I was in real agony until I had some gas-x to help me out.
