HELP!!!
Hi Liz!
Thanks so much for your response! I think part of my problem is that I psyche myself out before I even try things. It started with the Nectar powder that I bought. I had read such good reviews about it and it just about made me sick! Are you more tolerant of things at 6 weeks out? I'm afraid I'll never get enough protein in if it has to come from protein powder. Are you eating soft foods? I never thought I'd be excited to get to pureed food!

Jen,
Before the surgery I was using a protein powder called "MY WHEY"...got it at Walmart. I used the chocolate, but the flavor was so BLAH I added a packet of Instant breakfast...that worked well until about 1 week out...then I couldn't get it past my nose! I was really worried about what I was going to do until I accidentally made the drink WITH OUT the instant breakfast...JUST the protein powder...I find I can tolerate this mild taste SO much more easily!!!
Also, melted cheese REALLY tastes good to me...even if I am scraping it off of a dish!!!
I am very lucky as I am now able to eat all sorts of things. but I had my 2-3 week period of being nauseaus all of the time, and throwing up frequently...that medication Regalin did wonders for me!!!
And I have discovered that it really IS all about the taste....nothing else!
