i've stalled out
Hi everyone. i'm writing because i've stalled out and can't seem to loose weight.
so far at 13 months out i have lost about 130-135 pounds (started at 430 pounds). now i've had been on and off prednisone for my asthma. i'm wondering what i'm doing wrong that i haven't lost any weight for about 4-5 months. i do get the total protein amount in, i drink all or alomst all my fluids i needs, i wasn't exercising as much because when you can't breath its hard to exercise, and school was kicking my butt and i'm now back to curves. i can eat alittle bit of candy at times, my doc said its ok to eat a candy bar here and then but not the whole thing which is understandable. i heard some people were drinking some soda, so i decided to try some diet pop and see what would happen and i did fine. my mom thinks it the pop issue. anyways any suggestion would be helpful. i see my surgeon next week and i have to loose some weight before i see him. please help. thanks

I sure wish I had the answers. I am 11 months out and i did go through a 3 month lull. I have been on a 2 lb amonth kind of a thing.I dont drink soda(new york slang) at all because if I do I cant eat enough.I do realize for the first time in my life I lose more if I eat. Sugar doesnt bother me either unfortunatly. I still think yours will come off. Good luck and keep us informed. I know I am much hungrier then I was last month. Try to eat instead of drinking pop and see if that helps. Love Cindy
130 lbs is terrific
Jennifer, You sound a little like my story. I had lost about 160 lbs. and needed to lose more and had a hard time getting it started again. My dietician Erin told me to add weights to my exercise program and when I did that my weight loss has gradually increased from 1.5 lbs a week, to 3-4 lbs. and last week was 6 lbs. When I had my surgery I couldn't hardly make it from my house to my car. I have a Rascal Scooter that I had to use all the time when I went out. I was sick all winter after my surgery, so it has been an uphill battle.....but I am beginning to see results. My best friend is the pool at my local YMCA. I am now able to walk at a pretty good pace for an hour and have recently added a water aerobics class on Tues and Thursday nights. I walk 5 nights a week in the pool and just recently I can walk short distances without my scooter. I have a back injury and advanced arthritis of the spine. I am only telling you this because I didn't think that I would ever be able to exercise again. My breathing was so bad that its a wonder I didn't die from a stroke or heart attack. Do you have a pool someplace close where you could just get in and start out really slow or maybe just float....most of us are good floaters! I also am trying to get in my protein, water and eat right. I know from my experience that our bodies do go into those big stalls. How discusting it is to know that you are doing things right and the body just won't cooperate. Also prednisone is bad for those of us trying to lose weight. One time my doctor put me on it for bronchitis and she told me that it would make me eat...wow did it. Good Luck and God BLess
