Next Problem!!

Finally, after working on getting surgery for a year and spending 7 mos fighting Medical Mutual, I have been approved!! I asked for an independent review, but suddenly they found my evidence sufficient and reversed their decision without sending it out. I guess they knew they would loose. Anyway, since I have had 4 sleep studies and other work, I have met my out of pocket max. I have been working with Barix Clinic, but I think they are out of network. Does anyone know anyway I can get my surgery before 6/30/05. After that my deductibles start all over. It would mean at least $1000 difference. I'll take extra time off from work if I have to.

I don't know of any way you could get it that soon. However congrats on the approval. Medical Mutual is who I have and you do have to fight them. I am so happy that another one of us is making it to the losing side. Good Luck, Richard

From hanging around here, I have always read great things about your office. And, I see they are not exaggerations. Thanks to your kind staff, I will be in Cincinnati tomorrow with an arm full of paperwork. I hope to get to meet you and even if I don't make the deadline, thanks for genuinely trying.

Well, when I got back from Cincy I was tired, excitied, and almost overwhelmed. Dr. C is great, as you well know. He is very down to earth and his staff is wonderful. I left late, got stuck in traffic, and they still saw me!! They worked very hard to schedule things for me. I have a lot of work to do and will be back in Cincy on Tuesday. And here's the best part, drum roll please.........surgery on Thursday. So, I have to make some arrangements for the hotel, someone to baby sit me, and to keep my son. I'm glad I'm so busy, hopefully that will keep me from getting nervous.

Call Barix and ask to be put on the cancellation list. I got in within a week due to someone's cancellation. It is worth a shot. Good luck! Janet

I agree with everyone else. Call Barix Even though they are out of network and you may have to pay a little it is much worth it. Once I had all my testing done (sleep apnea, pysch eval) I got my surgery date real quick. They are great there. Hugs, Lisa
