I should have known better.

Ok I jsut got out of the hospital yesterday. I was dehydrated. I had 11 bags of IV fluid. Why did I get on the scale today? I started off at 285 and was down to 255. Today I weighed 272. YUCK!! I keep telling myself it is only fluid it will come back off. I need it to be healthy. However it is still depressing. Good thing I did not get rid of my clothes yet. Hugs, Lisa

Good grief, give yourself some time and drink, drink, drink. You will feel so much better. I had to drink warm water when I first came home cause my little tummy rebelled with anything else. Go figure, keep your chin up. Darla

Yep, it's the fluid! Your whole body was dehydrated sweetie so a lot of that ended up in your tissue. Give your body a few days to get it out of you tissues, pull it into your vascular system so your kidneys can flu**** out. Now, the important part is to keep pushing fluids. The more you drink the more you will pee off. I have seen people lose 40, 60 and even 80 pounds of fluid almost in one setting from where they were holding it. So it really doesn't suprise me that you have gained that. MY GOODNESS!!! That's 11 liters of fluid girlie!! Go line up about 5 1/2 two liters of pop and look at how much they pushed into you!!! That's a good bit. (I like visuals, they make great tools). Stick them on the scales and add up the weight! Whoa!! So, relax, and drink drink drink. I had to do warm fluids also. Decaf teas and coffees, sf popsicles, propel water, how ever you can do it. Carry it around with you at all times. If you have it in your hand you will get to where you drink it without even thinking about it. I hope you are feeling better. It's hard to get it in, I know, I had a rough time too, but it does get better. BIG HUGS! Val
