I had to be admitted...

I called Barix yesterday, and I ended up having to be admitted for 24 hours. I was pretty dehydraded. I had to have 11 bags of IV fluids to get me back up. I have struggled with my fluid intake and was only getting about 40 oz a day. I need to get around 90 a day. So I am home and tired, and sip..sip...sipping away. Watch out for the warm weather and getting distracted from you your fluids, I had no idea that post op you can dehydrate so easily. Hugs, Lisa

Thanks for the warning. I have a hard time getting fluids in now. Maybe I should work on that now. I get my surgery in 8 weeks. Hope you are doing better Take Care Barb

Hi Lisa, I hope you are feeling better. I was concerned when I heard you were in the hospital. I guess it's a good lesson learned for all of us. I read where one girl say that she put on her medical bracelet that she needs to carry water at all times. Now I understand why she had that put there. Take care, rest up and sip.. sip.. sip Cathy P

I have that on my medic alert necklace. I have open rny, no ng tube w/o scope, no nsaids, must carry water. That way if I go to see a movie or to an amusement park I will be able to carry in my own water instead of having to pay an outrageous price for a bottle of water. I hope your party goes great today.
