((((((((((Tema)))))))))) Medicaid changed their dates so "they" would not look as if they were slacking. Just like they sat on mine for 3 months and my Dr's office didn't see it until they inquired and then it was an "oh yeah" we did that 3 months ago. Don't give up! Fight em girl! Not just for you but for everyone that needs this surgery! Every battle we win against them is a win for all of us! Tricare does pay for WLS IF medically necessary, however they have lotsa hoops also to go through. hugs and prayers,

Hey Vickie! I talked to a crap load of military women who went through tricare and they said it was SOOO easy, actually most of them said they went to doctors on base and if the doctor says it's medically necessary then bam u don't even have to go through the ins, it's DONE...and check this out....tricare pays for DS!!!! That's awesome!! I always thought the DS was awesome but know that medicaid WILL NOT pay for it so I didn't even bother tryin...but wow...hmmmm....lots to think about... ~Tema

Liz- ROFLMBFAO!! That's cool!! Yah today I talked to Medicaid and set up a state hearing, they'll let me know in 10-15 days when and where I need to be, they better look out cuz I'm comin prepared!! I called my surgeons office today and the nurse chick Tibby is mailing me my chart (a copy) and I'm going to go in there yelling about knee pain and how carrying around all this extra weight is killin me and I'm hopin there are gonna be some men in there too because I'm gonna try to gross them out with some 'woman' issues, I'll tell them that my periods are irregular sometimes I don't have them then when I do it looks like I'm hemmorhagging HAHAHA, they will soooo regret messin with this *****!! I'm lookin forward to it, I like a good fight, if this don't work then I'm scrappin my plan and waiting til my man goes into the service and using Tricare, but I'm givin Medicaid a nasty fight first, I'll go down fighting if I have to, for me and all the other people they mess with! Oh ya liked my pics? Ha, thanks!! I foget which ones I have on there..hmmm, I know there is one in that cute green shirt! I got a cute necklace to match it...when I get skinny I'll have to find a SHIRT to match the NECKLACE lol!!! ~Tema

Tema, Say that you cannot keep yourself clean.... that your weight interfer's with your sex life.... you can't take peoples ridicules no more, it's DEPRESSING! You know you've been denied jobs because of your weight, you just can't prove it Just find those reasons! You didn't hear this from me :X but I think those things will definately help yer case! hugs

HAHA I was reading your post to my boyfriend and could hardly talk I was laughin so hard!! HEE HEE I was telling him that when I go for my state hearing that I should go wearing hehe house shorts, a SHORT tshirt, NO bra, hairy legs, and tell them I can't shave my legs and that I don't have nice clothes because of the jobs that I got turned down for because of my weight. He said you have some good ones, they are good too!! Yes I think I will make up a list of things that I can't do because of my weight and take it in there and ask them do they really want to fight me because I have alot of things that we could go over that would take them a long time to listen to...No I think I'll go in there looking nice because they would probably think that I would keep myself looking nice and be a good business person and a good worker and have a nice appearance for a job if I look decent overweight. But that would be funny!!! ~Tema

I think it would make a better point if you just shave your legs here and there, let big hairy patches grow here and there. Tell them this is the very best you can do. I had 2 hearings with medicaid. The first I had every medical paper and letter in the world with me. The second hearing I had letters from my kids, my family, those who loved me and a heartfelt letter I read to the judge. These letters contained all the reasons my loved ones needed me around and all the things they have missed out on because of my obesity. In my letter I spoke from my heart, all the things I cant do now. And all the things that the surgery could change for me. All the hospitalizations that might never occur again, all the medications I could go off soon, the better quality of life. I would be able to work more hours to take better care of my family and cut down on assistance through Jobs and family services. I wish you all the best but speak from your heart. Let yourself cry if you feel it. I had the judge and the caseworker wiping tears when I read the letter from my young son. I will keep you in my prayers that you get your appeal. And then keep on your Drs office. MY approval was lost for 7 months post approval. And they DO NOT send you a copy. It goes directly to the Docs office. Good Luck and May the Force be with you..
