Thanks for caring so much about me to respond ((((( y'all ))))) Today I was still so stressed and he missed school, he came down sat on the couch and fell back asleep. (missed school) Then my stress was physically making me ill, so that I ended up leaving work. That was before 10 am even. When I finally got him to wake up, I asked him WHY did you not go to school?, his reply, "Mom I slept really bad last night and was still tired". Ok, so his stress level was up too. We talked a bit and then... we went grocery shopping...(wadda choice huh) I let him pretty much take the wheel, he made good food choices. I'd would tell him (in this area) you can pick as much and whatever you want. Fresh fruit, veggies, even meat! He's not much of a meat-eater so there I had to control the hotdogs... cause I need real food. I actually only spent $60 if that tells ya anything. Then when we got home I asked him to go with me on the bike trail near our house ( i won't go alone, it's not the best area and a lot of woods.. also half decomposed body was found in the area JUST YESTERDAY! ) So anyways, HE went... and happily too! We rode and rode, well about 2.5 miles, but considering this is my 1st time on a bike in OMG A LOT OF Years, I considered this a major milestone for the both of us! We ended up having a great day! Talked, not so much about food, but just stuff. OH yeah I bought him some roses also today, just because I LOVE HIM! I ended up buying myself some, because I love me too! Now I got him wound up, as he is STILL outside shooting baskets! We made plans for tommorrow, if it rains we'll go figure out the weight machine thingy in the basement together instead of a bike ride. Gotta change it up anyways huh? I feel like I made a bit of progress with him today! Dunno if it was the roses, giving him control at the store, or asking him to be with me.. whatever I'll TAKE IT! hugs and prayers to all my SPECiAL extened family here on the OHIO board. p/s I posted this same post on the main MB and well MOST Of the people were nice, got one gal that seems to want to drag it out. I'm ignoring her Well shoot gotta when she can't READ what i wrote correctly. :x

Remember he will be testing. Maybe there is something going on at school. I know my son uses avoidance when things aren't good. Unfortunately for him, we have Edline which sends an email alerting me when grades are posted etc. He can run but he can't hide.

he's 13, I suppose he'll be testing me for some time to come yet. He's at school today, I know, watched him get on the bus, and I leave after him in the mornings. He also knows if I have half a clue, I call the school-- also TPS makes automated calls when kids miss school. I have those sent to my office #, that way HE cannot delete them from the answering machine at home. He's skipped 1x this year and I busted him and his buddy, ohh but cold. (the lil shyt's walked in the house 3 minutes after school let out, I told him, what now the bus is a jet? how the hel$, and wow your filthy, You've been down at the park all day huh?) Well he does know I catch on quick. Now he's afraid, because I have very erratic hours at work and NEVER knows what time exactly I will be home. Naa, when things aren't good at school he usually tells me I AM NOT GOING back, but well I send him back, of course with options. His problems, when he has them is, he's basically a loner (much like Mom) and walks the halls alone.. well there is another group of children, who roam the halls together and like to pick on kids that are alone. Well they start the stuff and now fortunately leave my boy alone, cause HE finishes whenever, whatever they start. Oh they just mail the mid-terms and grades to us. This year the timing has been uncanny, they always arrive on Sat's. (only good thing TPS does) your right he can run but he can't hide. Good thing Momma wasn't born yesterday too! hugs,

I deal with those kids all day long. We have a whole class of 8th graders like that. COunting the days we are. I would suggest you suggest to the school that they go to an online system. It is so neat. Anyhow I hope he and you have a great day. You look great. Keep up the protein etc. Don't let him stress you out. And boy will he try.

Vickie! I am sooo glad you had a wonderful day with your son. It's funny, after you talked about him the other day, and I told you about my 14 y-o we played hookey together on Monday. It was an accident, I was exhausted and he didn't get up until late...and we didn't do anything special just kind of hung out and let each other be. Then last night when I went to cut the lawn, he started the weed wacker for me, then cut the grass himself...voluntarily...without asking for a cash retainer! I pinched myself, but then the weed wacker got tangled in my lamp post and when I wrenched it away, I went rollin down the hill. (Not really-but I was shocked that he helped.) So tonight his dad asked him why he cut the grass and my son says, "so mom wouldn't have to". At this point my DH decides to tell the boy-are you aware that your mom LIKES to cut grass? (Its one of my shameful secrets-I love mowin the lawn) But my son says, well she had surgery only 6 weeks ago so she shouldn't be doing it. THATS MY BOY! He's still grounded for the crap he pulled, but at least I know that someday...someday some woman will be very happy with what I am doing. I am so proud of him and SOOOOO happy that you and yours had a great day too! Take care, Becky
