OT - But Help!

Thanks I needed the hug... oh man, mine's not quite an a$$hole YET, you mean this could get worse before better? (gettin me a new script of nerve pills) Yep the door has been slammed, locked a few times. I insist that he NOT lock the door, just in case.. but I NEVER enter w/o knocking, I respect his privacy. Yeppers his grade card isn't what it used to be. I was blaming in on part to the LOUSY school system up here in Toledo. But the other part, is Nick not applying himself. Ya, my kid either snowballs the counselours or ignores them. He don't feel he NEEDS to be there. When I can catch him I hug him, he avoids me as much as possible if he thinks I'm gonna touch him *sigh* Do you WANT my kid? lol Tough love and lotsa love is coming his way. Vicki... I know your frustration. My daughter is 13 and she also is ADD. We have had her tested many times, so they say she is not mentally retarded, but she is borderline. She has the mind of a 7 yr old vs 13. She does self mutalation and she eats constantally. She is 5"6 and weighs 170. We have her seeing a Physc. but it does not seem to help. She does not have any friends that come over nor do they call her. She does walk our dogs, but she rather sit and watch tv. Once I have my surgery, I am going to take her to the gym with me so I can help her lose some weight. You both have been through alot lately. Nick was doing the self-mutilation about a year ago, Thank the Lord, I noticed (he hid it a while) and got control of THAT situation. I didn't want to bring that part up as I didn't want to be looked down upon (yanno how people are) Nick is on the other end of the meter... he's TOO bright and get's bored easily in school. will email ok.. don't hold me to when though! hugs and prayers,

Vickie! You got a big hug from me. Mine is 15 and can be a Jekyll Hyde. All you can do is what you are do. Stay the course. The testing ends soon. I think the food issue is an attempt to get attention. He can't do drugs, he wants to rebel; and push buttons I'm no shrink but I would bet puberty is involved too. He may also be going through a growth spurt. Hang on and enjoy the ride. I would not make a big issue out of the food except to tell him he can't bring it into the house. That's for you. Then give him the gum and not cash. I bet it stops when he sees it not getting to you. He will have to make a choice especially when he finds a girl he likes

Jack! Good to see you! Well this puberty stage can pass already now. Haha he's been in it for about 1.5 yrs now.. growed like a sprout, then decided to REALLY fill out. I guess he's got his momma's jeans. i will tell him that, about not bringing the junk into the house, respect me on that. GOOD GOLLY, don't mention girls! I know he's looking, but I think he's not ready to touch, quite yet anyways. I told him that if he can't TALK about IT, he certainly is NOT mature enough to do it. Just wondering how it went today with him. How you did today etc. Don't forget it's a package deal. We're not just here for surgery issues at least I'm not but for total support.
