Debbie, you should definitely call your surgeon. They may need to do some kind of test to find out what is going on. Can you drink liquids or do they come up too? I wouldn't wait any longer to call them. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. Chris

Yes. I had the same problem 6 weeks out. It sounds like your stoma needs a stretch. No big deal. I was so scared but it was easy, and I felt better right away. Its amazing. So many people need this and you are sedated and no pain I promise. It just takes a minute to do. Go today and dont put it off. Dr.Curry(my angel) took me that day and your Doc. should too. Cindy

I had surgery 2/25/05 now 2 months out and I am having sort of the same problem. What little I do eat feels like it gets stuck in my stomach. I am unable to have a normal bowel movement without some kind of liquid laxative. Oftentimes when it comes up is only phelgm also. My stomach gets bloated and very sore on the left side. I was told that I may have diarrhea but haven't only constipation. I am almost afraid to eat because I don't want my stomach to hurt. And what about this stoma thing I keep hearing about needing dialated? Is it a hospital stay or outpatient. I am tired of drinking liquid laxatives just to go to the bathroom. Even when Idrink lots of water not much comes out the other end...LOL What is going on...PLEASE HELP ASAP karen

General agreement here! Sounds like a stricture. Definately call your surgeon! Don't hesitate, because it will only cause you to be dehydrated and that's not a good thing! Take care, let us know how you are doing as soon as you are able! Val

EUWWWWWW. The thought of a stricture is scary. My cousin had the RNY and had to have a 'stretching' twice. Each time it was like a $1,700 charge. Def call your doc right away!! Good luck! Tonya
