Ok heres my questions. What happens to us after the losing is over?. Do we still eat as little as we do now? Do we get full the same way? Is it easier to gain weight? Are any of you having a hard time getting to goal or is it to late? I would appreciate any answers because its so slow now.Its about a pound a week now. Thats is fine if it coutinues lol. Thanks everyone,Love Cindy

Hi Cindy..I will be one year out in June, and I can tell you it does get harder. I have to constantly remind myself as to why I had this surgery int he first place. I heard a surgeon speak not long ago..he said that by two years out our pouch will be the size we will live with..now what we put into that pouch is up to us. I tell people all the time to follow a strict regiment in the beginning so the bad things don't take over once we are further away from surgery. I try to eat daily as a health conscious person.(that doesn't mean I am perfect as slip from time to time ).but as I have said in many post that I know I have an addiction to food so I remind myself of that daily! But it can be fun too..I try different recipies, do alot of things with my support group in Cincinnati and also with a couple of Bariatric centers in the area.( it keeps me in check) so I never ever feel deprived..I feel free..does that make sense??? I know that I am now in control and it really does make me feel free!! good luck Brenda

Hi Cindy, I'm at about 21 months out and yes, there are challenges. I watch everything I eat but sometimes I slip. But, before it gets too out of hand I weigh myself and keep any gains to no more than 3 lbs. If I'm at 3 lbs over, I start back on the basics. I eat mostly protein, forget any snacks and I step up my exercise. I tend to get kinda lazy in the winter because I like to walk. Walking here in Columbus can be a challenge with the weather. So, I tend to gain a little in the cold months. Once the sun is out and the weather gets warmer, I walk and tend to get below my goal. I went to Italy last September and I ate gelatos every day and I lost 5 lbs in two weeks! It all boils down to smaller portions, watch the sugar and exercise. And.........it's never too late. Remember, your pouch is your tool. You use it everyday. It tells you when you are full, it tells you when you've been bad with the sugar. It's just a matter of knowing when to put the brakes on.
