My body is not cooperating!!
5 week and only 18.5 lbs lost.
I'm walking a mile a day on the treadmill, no problem with 66 gr of protein per day and 66 oz of water a day. I don't know what else to do. I don't like this anymore. I have no appetite, I have to force myself to eat anything and still nothing. All I want to do is drink all day. I don't even have that much to lose (starting weight 246 lbs) and it won't come off. I keep reading profiles where people are losing more than this in the first 2 weeks. What's the problem??
What am I doing wrong?

Hi. Temeka
I haven't had my surgery yet I'm still waiting for a date. Based on the profiles I have read and I have read alot of them....lol everyone is different some people lose faster than others so stay encouraged and don't give up. Just think if you wouldn't have had surgery would you have lost 18.5 lbs? Don't give up I think before too long it will just start falling off.
Temeka,
I know just how you feel! I will be 4 weeks out this Friday, and I have only lost 9 pounds..
I am doing everything right. I too started with a lower BMI (43). I just keep thinking, that it has to come off if I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. I do feel better though, even with just 9 pounds gone. Good luck and keep on keeping on...

ya know reading this thread reminded me of my first weeks..when I talked to a cousin a year out and i was only a month she gave me this great advice..(GET RID OF THE SCALES) lol
she was so right, I finally tucked them away under a bed where it was difficult for me to get to them..
to me it was like the old "a watched pot never boils saying" once I got over stepping on and off the scales it seemed to come right off!..hang in there!
The biggest advice I can give to those who want to lose quickly is to watch your carbs and stay off things like breads, high carb and calorie snacks, milk seems to slow weight down a bit too.. I started reading alot of books like sugar busters, Atkins and other low carb diets..I can't say I stuck to them like glue but I used the concept and it certainly seemed to work for me.
And don't forget the water..oiy I cant say enough about drinking liquids. I had kidney problems so my urologist and friend kept on me about my fluid intake..he has a cute saying. "Dilution is the solution". tons of water..high protein snacks and low carbs..at least that is what worked for me, but everyone has to find their own way.
I find this is all a mind game..I had the devil on one shoulder saying "it's ok eat it anyway" then the little angel on the other shoulder telling me I had to succeed because this was my last chance at losing weight, if this didn't work then what?
I knew I couldn't have the surgery and still eat the same foods that got me in the shape that got me to 300 lbs. in the first place. take this opportunity to learn more about health and eating right..then put it all together in a plan that works for you!
I can't say enough about support groups. especially ones that are ran by post ops who have been there and done that!
Good luck and keep pluggin away..
