Waiting for approval STINKS!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm just here to vent.....I'm still awaiting approval from Aetna, I called OSU tuesday to make sure everything was sent to Aetna and Lanitia(she is sooo nice and sweet) said she couldn't tell me that answer but Shannon could, but Shannon was in a meeting, She said to just try to hold out a little longer..........I'm trying believe me, I'm trying. I guess I just wish I knew if everything was sent to Aetna or not, I think it would ease my mind. I'm sure it has been sent or they would have called me to let me know if they needed anything else. They were to have a meeting last Friday March 18th to review my info and then I think everything goes off to insurance.....just wish I knew. I know you all went through this too........any words of comfort to make it through the next week or even more.......depending on what is going on with my chart????????? AHHHHHHHHH I could scream!! But i do have some good news, hubby and I booked our flight and made our hotel reservations at Treasure Island in Las Vegas for June 7th .......I'm hoping to have my surgery already done and over with by then.......lets hope so, the tickets are NON-refundable!! I just had to do something!! This is all driving me nuts!!! Well thanks for listening to me complain!! I hope everyone has a great Easter!! Tabitha

Hang in there sweetie!! I went through the same exact thing not too long ago and look where I am now... 4 days away from surgery... It will all come...I know it is hard to wait, but you have come so far, just get all your laundry and house work caught up...

Thanks Paula for the encouragement!! I know I will hear something soon.......lets hope!! I'm soooo excited for you and your surgery!! Just remember I'm here if you need me!! Can't wait to see you next week!! I hate laundry and housework...........it stinks almost as bad as waiting!!

I had Aetna, I would call them at least once a week and check on it until I was approved. I think they got tired of me bugging them but it worked!

Thanks Jill for the advice. I got a call from OSU yesterday and Shannon said I can start my 4 week dietian classes( I called this morning and have already seen Kristine Fout for my first appointment) She said my stuff would be sent to Aetna today(Friday) or Monday....lets hope today. I have my 3 other classes with Kris scheduled so I will be completed with those April 18th. SO at least for now I have plenty to do and to keep me busy!!! Have a wonderful Easter! Tabitha

HI Deb! I did FINALLY get a call from Shannon at OSU yesterday.....at 6pm and she said my stuff would be sent to Aetna today(fri) or Monday.....so at least I know!! She said I could start my 4 week nutrional classes, so I got an appointment this morning in Marysville....so that will keep me busy!! ANyway thanks for the advice! I know I am in the same boat. I still have my 4 weeks of bariatric nutrition counseling. Just hang in there.. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. My insurance is Cigna. I know I am going to feel this way in a few weeks too. Take Care! Good Luck! Julie

Hi Julie, Thanks for the kind words. I did get a call from Shannon last night at 6pm. She said my stuff would sent to Aetna today(friday) or Monday. She also told me I could start my 4 week nutrition classes now. I called Kris Fout this morning in Marysville at Memorial Hospital and have already been there to see her today! So only 3 more classes left. At least I have that to keep me busy, and one less thing I have to do before surgery!!! Good luck on your approval and have a GREAT Easter! Tabitha

Tabitha, I am seeing Kris Fout as well in Marysville. She helped me during my 6 month supervised diet for insurance purposes. She is great. I start seeing her on April 4th. I will keep you in my thoughts and keep my fingers crossed you hear something real soon. Julie
