Hi everybody, My name is nae. I just sent in my paperwork a couple days ago. I was just wondering how long it might take from start to finish. I haven't even been approved yet. I am pretty sure I will have to fight with my insurance company but figure it is well worth it. Does anybody have an idea about how long?

Hi, I'm just down the road from you in McConnelsville!!! I am still pre op and I started things last June 4th. But then it took my doctor months on end to get my letter of need sent to my ins comp. Now I'm in my 4th month of a 6 month diet, ins insisted upon. Once it is finished, I'll find out if I get approved or not. I pray I do. There are many on here who applied and were accepted and had ins ok in a month or so and others who are still fighting years later. So it depends on lots of things. My doc will be Dr. Needleman, I hope, at OSU. Where are you going for your surgery? Do you go to a support group meeting anywhere? I found one in Parkersburg, it's the closest for me and an hour away at that. If you need to go to a support group, maybe we could drive together, if you would like. If you have a support group closer, let me know, I might join you there. Good luck with your journey, and keep lots of notes. I've got a book filled with information for later use. It's got everything in it from A - Z, if I can only find it, Just kidding, everything's tabbed and easy to find. Hugs, Susie

I live near Cambridge Ohio and our local hospital has just started a support group meeting the first Thursday every other month. It was a great first meeting and we will meet again the first Thurs in April. Let me know if you would like to come and need directions. Big Hugs, Laura

:WAVE Thanks Laura. The support group in WV is just about as far as Cambridge for me, and since my sons live in Parkersburg, their dad can go visit them while I'm at the support meeting. Thanks anyway, if I need a change of senery, I'll get directions for sure. Thanks!!! Hugs, Susie

Hi Susie Q NIce to hear from you. I was hoping there would be somebody in my area that had some info on some of the physicians in the area. Well it appears we have the same taste in hospitals and doctors haha I decided to go to OSU after doing some research and Dr Needleman is the physician I have decided I would like to have do my surgery. I guess I was hoping it wouldn't be such a long wait but I know it probably will. Well I will keep u in my prayers. I didn't realize that the support groups were for people that haven't had the surgery yet. I sure would like to go sometime and meet some of the people and maybe get some guestions answered. I really just made the decision to have it done if I can. I want to try to have my insurance pay if at all possible. I have alot of medical issues so I am quite sure I probably can get it paid for if I work at it.Sure would like to stay in touch. Maybe we can hook up and go to a support group together .
