Finally*****Approved****I am soooooooooo excited****

Since June 2004 I have been waiting to be approved by Medical Mutual Super Med Plus, my husband's insurance, which after 2 and final denials I did not get. January 1, 2005 I joined my insurance at work, United Healthcare Choice Plus, and the surgeon's office sent everything on 1/4/05 and the approval letter was dated 1/9/05!!!! Took less than 5 days!!!!!!!! I am sooooooooooooooooo excited. I have been waiting for this for so long. My journey will be at least 1 full year before surgery. I started thinking about the procedure in January 2004 and really started with all the doctor appointments etc. in March 2004 and hopefully will have surgery in March or April 2005. I already called my surgeon's office to see if she is going to give me a date now, of course it was after hours, so I am hoping so hard that I receive a call with my date for surgery tomorrow. I just can't tell you how much I want this as soon as I can get it!!!!! I am ready and have been for awhile. I want to become a LOSER!!!!!! Jaimee- if you are reading this I would really like to talk with you as you went to the same surgeons I am going to and I have some questions. Thank everyone for listening to me. I am sure I will be asking for alot of support and answers to alot of questions. Thanks!!!

Congratulations Cindy! I am just curious as to why Medical Mutual denied you? I have been fighting them for over a year to get approval. I am also thinking about hiring Walter. How do you feel about the work he done for you?

Michelle- Medical Mutual Super Med Plus just kept denying that there was coverage, but the actual exclusion states "excluded for cosmetic care or treatment for which the primary purpose is to remove fat tissue" which this is not. I used Walter Lindstrom, actually Kelly Lindstrom, I just advise that if you do decide to use them, you have to bug them and keep up with them at all times. I really don't think they did anything for me unless I called them. Even the last and final denial I got from Medical Mutual Super Med Plus, the letter stated an exclusion that is not an exclusion in my benefit book. Kelly called me to discuss what to do next and she hadn't even read the letter. She just knew they denied but she didn't actually see that the exclusion was not a true exclusion. That was on 12/8/04 and she was going to read the letter, check it out and get back with me, and as of today 1/17/05 I have still not heard from her. I will also tell you that I received my first denial end of August, talked with Kelly and she was going to send out another letter for approval the lst week of September and I called her at the end of September and nothing had been sent. I don't know if they are just too busy or what. She said that Medical Mutual is hard to deal with at times. But I know there have been other people who have been approved. I would maybe ask for some other people's opinion on the Lindstroms. Maybe I just was an unusual situation. I hope you all the luck and I understand how frustrating it is.
