tummy question

Hi all, I just wanted to check in and see what all of my fellow WLS patients are doing in regards to ab/oblique exercises (Haha, 7 months ago I wouldn't know what those terms meant!).. I am almost 7 months out, and I am so excited to find that I fit into a size 12 jeans, but the top half is still stuck anywhere from a 14/16-18/20. Things fit just fine around the top, but the gut is getting to be a problem. I do crunches and an ab roller, 1 hr on an elliptical machine 6 days a week, plus random 2 mile walks anywhere from 2-5 times per week. Any suggestions/comments for what else I can do to flatten this tummy of mine? Any help would be appreciated! -Emma

UUGH, the thought of doing a crunch right now sends shivers down my spine. My pain just went away about a week ago. Ask me again in a few weeks. LOL. Actually my aqua conditioning instructor shnowed me a great little exercise that does wonders for that area. I wish I could explain it. It is a resistance exercies that you do with foam weights in the water. It sure does hurt the next day when you do them though. There are some good videos out there that focus on ab muscles. That might help you???? Best of luck to you on getting those rock hard abs. You're doing great!

From what I have read, no exercises will really flatten the stomach, in fact if you really do heavy abs, it will actually be stronger but look bigger if that make any sense. Abs are all about diet. As for suggestions, several WLS people do weight training and have had huge success.
