Support Group Meeting!
Hi gang!
Just wanted to let you know we are having our support group meeting at OSU tonight at 7pm. Same time, new place! We will be in the Dodd Hall Bldg on 9th ave, 1st floor. We no longer have to pay for our room! YEAH!! So please, anyone who wishes to come whether you are an OSU patient or not please feel free to attend.
We have two meetings a month. The first and fourth Weds and the first meeting's topic is geared toward pre-ops and early post-ops, the second one's topic is geared for 6 month post-ops +. As always support people are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Hope to see all your smiling faces!
Hugs,
Val

I am so happy to hear this good news Val. After surgery I want to be active in a support. Currently, I'm not able to drive and have to rely on a couple of friends to get me to and from all of appointments. From where I live I thought it would be to much to ask them to take me to the support group meetings way out on Kenny Rd. even though they probably wouldn't mind.
This location is so much closer to me and I am going to see if I can make arrangement to make it to some of the meetings. How long do the meetings usually last and is there a fee involved?

Hi sweetie!! Yes you definately need to hook up with us!! They usually last about 1 hr give or take. Some of us "old timers" hang around a little afterward to shoot the breeze or help others along the way!
Right now there is no fee because we finally found a room that we don't have to pay for. Go figure...OSU support group and we had to pay to use the Kenny Rd facilities! But, after last Weds meeting we may have to find a bigger place already! We had 62 people there!! AWESOME!!
There is a place to park right under the Dodd/Davis building that you can access off of 9th ave. It is kind of hidden but it is there. When you get ready to come to meetings, let me know and I will give you good detailed directions! Who knows maybe we will have a new place by then.
Take care, I will be thinking and praying about you for your Monday surgery!
Hugs,
Val
