United Healthcare

My husband has United Healthcare through SBC and there are no exclusions. My doctor's office sent my paperwork through and the predetermination dept. has it. If anyone was approved through United Healthcare how long is my wait. I'm really nervous, this is my second insurance the first denied me.

My husband has United Health Care Options PPO and I was approved in just over 1 month. I kept bothering them as did Barix (where I had my surgery). Once i had my approval, everything else happened within a week! Good luck, the waiting IS the hardest part.

Only took a week for me. I wish you the same short wait. No matter how long or short the wait, its nerve racking!

Hi Mona Lisa, I also have United Healthcare (through Bank One). My paperwork was submitted on 11/23/04 and I had the approval letter in my hand on 12/14. So, that is 3 weeks. I was amazed at how fast it turned around and there were no problems with it at all. However, I'm now thinking of having the duodenal switch instead of RNY, so I'm going to have to go through it again, but it's not a bad wait. Good luck with the outcome! Denise

I have United Healthcare of Ohio and it took like one or two days to get approved. Cheryl

I was told they streamlined the process and it will now take about 2 weeks after the 1/1/05 submissions. If it was done before they said can take 2 months. Terri
