Hi Everyone, I'm new here and just wanted to say HI to you all. And if any of you know of something i can eat besides soup, purred tuna, sf jello and pudding.....I'd love some new ideas.

Hi! Welcome - I'm two weeks post op today, and just leaving the land of pureed food on the dietician's advice. Hope your weeks are going well, I wasn't wild about the first 10 days or so, but I'm feeling so much better now and food is so much more appetizing, I wanted to tell you to hang in there if things are hard right now. The dieticians tell me it's more difficult to fit in the required protein once you move to the step III (soft foods) diet, so I'm sticking with half of my meals pureed, still, to be sure my body has the protein it needs. I use a protein powder called "unjury", available on the intranet, it comes in unflavored, and I add that to lite yogurts, pudding, even crystal light (1/2 scoop in yogurt and pudding adds 10g of protein, so I do that twice a day, in the crystal light I add 1/2 scoop to the 60 or so ounces I drink over the course of the day). I also found a roasted red pepper/tomato soup sold at Trader Joe's that's low fat and low sugar, and I pureed about 1/4 cup of that soup with 1oz of deli turkey (or 1 oz healthy choice ham pureed in 1/4 cup of campbell's cheese soup), and you can't even tell the turkey's in it, it just tastes like soup. If you don't have a Trader Joe's around, look for some healthy choice soups that you like that would be good blended. Also liked the cottage cheese pureed with a couples slices of lite canned peaches. Most of all, just hang on, it's not much longer til they'll release you to some solid food, and let me tell you, it will be the best tasting cracker or egg-beaters egg you've ever tasted in your life. Where is there a Trader Joes in Columbus if you don't mind my asking? I LOVE that place!!! We had them out in Seattle. They have the best teas. Thanks for the info! ~~Jaimee

They've just opened one at Easton, next to the Marriott Courtyard. It rocks.

Hi Again, Dr. Mikami did my surgery at OSU Nov 2nd. I've been on pureed foods the majority of the time. I'm guessing I'll be advanced to stage 3 diet when I go for my followup visit on monday...which I am looking forward to.

We used Wnedy's chili and pureed it. I also used Frisch's and Skyline and Goldstar. I'm a chili freak though
