A question for Dr. Curry.

Why do you require your patients to do 10 days of liquids?

Pat I am not Dr. C but was told by my doctors that it helps shrink the size of the liver. They have to work around it to do the surgery. Now that is what I understand. I am sure Dr C has a better explanation though.

Dr. Curry. All I can say is I am so happy I had my surgery before this 10 day stuff. I give everyone credit that is doing this. That show real will power. Dr.C, You should try it for a day.haha.Cindy

speaking of.... 1st day of my 10 day full liquid diet. Had a F/F S/F CIB french vanilla for breakfast. Yum 10 days from right now I'll be in the OR! God Bless, Vickie

I was one of the "unfortunate" ones that had to do the 10 day liquid stuff. I found out 3 days(!) before I had to start. My husband and I had planned on going out over that weekend and I had my "last big meal" all planned at Red Lobster! HA! So much for those plans. It wasn't too bad doing it after I faced the fact I didn't have a choice-I just wish I had had more time to "prepare"! I've got a friend in Virginia who had the surgery last spring and I was telling her about the 10 day liquid diet. She about went through the roof! Told me it was barbaric and she wouldn't do it. I told her yes, I guess to some it sounds barbaric but I wasn't going to do something I wasn't supposed to do like not complying. My luck, I'd be the one whose surgery would be cancelled because of not following orders! Beth

Anytime he wants some of my liquid diet, I'd gladly share for a few grapes!!!!!
