Yup, try OSU Bariatric Center. That is where I went and was really pleased. You might want to get all the official diet documentation in writing ahead of time because Medical Mutual SuperMed Plus turned my sister down since she had no officially documented diet regimens on record. She decided not to fight them. Good Luck and God Bless
Hi Kasey!
My name is Valerie, I had my surgery done at OSU, and I happen to work here as well. I do some speaking at information sessions and try to help people out as much as I can.
We have information sessions about our program here once a month. You can also call our Bariatric Surgery Dept. for an information/application packet. That is the first step in the whole process to have surgery at OSU. The number is 614-293-2888 option #3. Shannon Surber is the program director and she can get you guided in the right direction. The next info session is Dec 2nd. Myself and another successful patient will be speaking at that one. If you would like more on that I can email you the information on it.
I wish you the best in your journey. It can get long and crazy at times but it is well worth it when you make your goal!
Oh, also, we do laproscopic surgery here for gastric bypass (we do open too) but I think they look at the possibility at lap if they can!
Take care,
