If someone gets terminated from a job, does insurance stop that day? Also, is there some sort of cobra plan that can go in affect? Thanks Jackie C

Jackie, Some ins. stop immediately, others gove you thirty days. youll need to call your ins and ask, or the hr dept at your job. Cobra is out there to use, however it is very expensive.

Cobra means you have the legal right to keep the same plan and pay the cost of the policy yourself. I believe you can do it for up to 18 months. Dr. C

Thank you Dr C I called the company and the HR person is out until monday, I just hope I can get this straighten out before Nov 12 I talked to a person today that said that I can tell my Dr's that I fall under the Cobra Plan and usually things go as scheduled. I hope that is the fact. I have waited so long for this. Have a nice weekend Jackie

Jackie, I sure hope that you can get this straightened out before the 12th. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and that you can have your surgery as scheduled, and on your way to a healthy new life! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Ohh man! I think your insurance should go until the end of the month that you get fired..but if you quit, it is different. Atleast that is what happend when I left. Dr. C is right (not that I was disagreeing) Cobra is your best bet...but it is not cheap. GODD LUCK!! Jamie
