Help!!!!!

I need some advice. I finally got hold of someone at Barix who actually told me why I had been denied. But I've only got so long for the appeal. I was told that my BMI alone wasn't enough (it's 37) and that I would need some co-morbidities. So now I have to get with my doctor (who I haven't discussed this with yet) and get them to look back in my records and find all the things that could be because of my weight. I don't have high blood pressure, diabetes or anything major like that. I've have chronic back problems including a herniated disk and some other minor things. I'm beginning to wonder if it's all worth it? I know there are people out there with way bigger medical problems than mine and are more deserving of the surgery. Maybe I'm just being selfish? According to my insurance I'm not heavy enough to warrant surgery, but they don't have to live with this body. I start to cry every time I think about it. Thanks for letting me vent. hey tami have you had a sleep study,maybe you have sleep apnea,that was one of the reasons i was covered for surgery,i dont have any other med problems,i didn't know i had it,that was just one of the test that my surgeon ordered as a precaution,not wishing anything bad on you,but maybe it's something you might want to look into. good luck ebony

Tami, You might not want to hear this, but if you have no comorbidities I think a RNY is too high risk for you. If you have a leak or god forbid worse...it could happen as this is serious stuff. Hi Tami, I have the lapband myself, and am very pleased with it and the results I am having. Have you considered looking into that type of WLS?? If you have any questions about it, i'd be happy to try and answer them. You also should check out the lap band board here on ObestiyHelp. Dont' give up gal!!
