FINALLY DENIAL FROM MEDICAL MUTUAL OVERTURNED!!!!

After 2 denials from Medical Mutual and filing an appeal with Ohio Dept of Insurance I have been approved!!! I am sooooo excited! If anyone else has been denied by Medical Mutual for no history of non-surgical weight loss attempts, please e-mail me!

Let me start by saying way to go!!! I am very happy for you!! I was denied on Oct 20, 2004. They told me to start on a 6 month supervised diet like Weigh****chers and weigh in with my PCP once a month. I started on Oct. 21. Any information you can share with me would be greatly appreicated. I am afraid to send in my appeal until I am done with the supervised diet. I think I meet all of the other criteria such as weight history for 5 years, a psy. report, etc.

I sent you a personal reply too. But I am so happy for you. As of yet I had not known anyone who had a decision overturned. Shall I call you beast slayer?

Jamie way to go. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois PPO with is just like Medical Mutual in my opinion (owned by the same company) but I was denied for the same reason and feel this is a way that they don't have to pay for weightloss surgery. Could you give me some feedback on the letter you wrote to the Ohio dept of Insurance. I just sent off a letter I got from a fellow member and added my father's death certificate to it because he and I had similar health problems. I am waiting to hear but I'd like some tips from you.
