I currently lost 15 lbs. I've been taking adipex that my doctor prescribed to me. Well I went back for my 4 week check up....I gained 10 back! I've kinda slid off the wagon. My doctor wants me to go to the bariatric center in columbus or, i believe it was, grove city. just for an evaluation and to see how they can help me. She said they dont always do surgery on patients, there are other ways. whatever that means. My question is, how far do you have to walk to these clinics. Like are they in a hospital where you have to walk down long hallways? Or is just a normal clinic where you walk in and be seated. This may seem like a dumb question to some...but I can barely get around. I'm extremely over weight and I need help really bad. But I'm afraid if I have to walk to far, I'll never make it. Hopefully someone can help me. thanks.

Hi Bobbie, The center in Grove Port (which is right outside Columbus) has a drive up to the door where u could be dropped off. The check in is right inside the door, and there are all kinds of seats that are friendly to overweight people. The place where you will talk to a surgeon is a bit of a walk, and I am not sure whether or not there are wheelchairs avaliable to use. If I were you, I'd call them and ask. Another option would be to take your own wheelchair if you have one. OR rent one to use for the day. I too have a hard time getting around, and did use my own wheel chair when I went. The people there were all very helpful and friendly. Hope this helps alittle. Good Luck Cindy

I agree with the previous post, I too am going to the Barix in Groveport, and the people there are really great, my surgery is Nov. 10. They explain everything to you, and if you have any questions please ask, they don't mind at all. I am sure that there are some provisions for the walk to the dr. I understand how you feel I took adipex yrs. ago, lost weight and as soon as I went off gained it back plus more, but we all know that story don't we? Good luck to you on your journey. I just moved from Chillicothe 3yrs. ago. Loved it there!!

Thanks ladies! I am going to see them as soon as I can get in. Do you know what other procedures my doctor must of been talking about when she said that they do more than just surgery? I'm really nervous about this. Connie, Chillicothe is a great place to live. I like it here, anyways. And I live in the country, where fall is just as beautiful as ever. Good luck on your surgery! I'll be thinking of you.
