Head's SPINNING!!!

HELP! I got a call from OSU yesterday saying..by the way...did you know you were approved by your insurance company...and also we can get you in with a surgeon on Monday?? It's all happening SO fast now after months of waiting! I don't know what to ask the doc on Monday..You'd think I would have had enough time to prepare, but I've been so busy! Any thoughts would be welcomed..what are some key questions?

Kristie C. How awesome! Congratulation on approval. That really is half the battle! I had Dr. Mikami as well, and he did a fabulous job. My 3 month anniversary is on Friday, and I have lost 61 pounds so far. Here are some of the questions I asked him...I am sure others here on the board have lots of good questions to add as well. What kind of tubes (catheters, IV, NG) will be in me when I wake up? What are the risks and complications? Dr. Mikami went over this thoroughly. How long will I be in the hospital? How long do you expect me to be on the operating table? What is OSU's/your policy on pain management after surgery? Where will you cut me open? What happens if a complication arises? What is your normal pre-op regimen? i.e. no food 24 hours before? bowel prep, etc. This is all I can think of right now. But don't worry, as I am sure you know, you are in good hands with Dr. Mikami.
