I have A DATE!!!!!!!

Well, its offical. I have a date. October 11. Surgery at 12:30. Tons of things to get done before hand with pretesting and all. Seems so far away but I know it will come quicker than I thought. I concentrated so hard on just getting approved, when I called Leslie today, I wasn't sure what to even ask or expect but, as usual, she was the greatest and walked me through it all. Beth

That's so cool that your denial was overturned. You will be so busy the next few weeks you won't realize you had it done till its over. LOL! Congratulations Beth! It's wonderful news! I bet you're DANCING all over the house. Hugs, Jaimee

Hi all and thanks for the congrats. Sandy, I had to smile a bit with your suggestions. One of the BIG things for me was I was a PEPSI lover. Back in January when I first thought about having this surgery, I knew that was one thing I would have to give up so I went cold turkey. I've not had any since then. My husband swore I couldn't do it which just gave me incentive. Many things that I enjoyed I've given up just to test to see if I could do it and so far, so good. I'll be looking for a good protein supplement and working with Erin. Going to her one class on September 28th. Our house is NEVER in order but I'm going to make them get it that way-at least partially. They know I'll "go off" if I come home and its a wreck! And grocery shopping-got that on my list. I just need to MAKE a list to get! My biggest concerns are our one dog who is like velcro with me. I think he's aware something is going on because he's been kinda distant and mopey since I got the approval notice. The other one I'm worried about is our ****atoo. I hand raised him and never been separated from him for more than a day. I've given orders that they are to be cuddled and played with on a daily basis. BOTH will let me know if they didn't receive that attention when I get home too! Beth

CONGRATS ON YOUR DATE! Where will you be having your surgery ? That's funny you mentioned about your pets because that is one of my only concerns about being in hospital for several days. One of my dogs is like velcro too and freaked out when I was away on business once and kept pooping all over the house! The other dog is not as clingy, but she has a heart condition and I worry about her even when I'm home. It's nice to know someone else is as dysfunctionally attached to their animals as I am ! Nancy, I'm going to have Dr. Curry do my surgery. I know many have given such raving reviews of him and I do have to echo those reviews. The decision to go to Dr. Curry was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I'm very particular and if the doctor makes me feel at ease and the staff too, that's a big plus. I would rate them a 10+ in those areas. They've helped me work through all of this getting approved and everything else and they are accessible which to me is HUGE! I guess I am totally dysfunctional when it comes to our animal friends. I wish there was some way the ****atoo could stay with me and the velcro dog too. The dog might have a tough time in the OR but he'd be a real asset to curl up in bed with me and keep me warm and company! Heck, I'm SO dysfunctional, the ****atoo even takes naps with me and the dog so he could even crawl under those covers too!!!!! I better shut up-everyone will think I'm nuts! Beth
