He's bedridden and very alone in this so it would mean alot to have everyone's support. Well people its me Jeremy... I have some good and bad news... Good news is with my water pills i have been able to drop 70 lbs of water weight and now the bad news... we contacted Dr. Cooks office and i found out that they have 15 people ahead of me for consultations and september is full and i may not even get called till december... so now if things dont get changed im looking at getting consulted right before or after christmas... i understand hes busy but they said its first come first serve instead of as needed.. which due to my health severly dropping i am becoming an as needed person...i pray things dont take long because my doctors say things can get worse especially my heart doctor... please pray for me and if you have any suggestions for help please let me know..... as i said i understand that he is a busy man.... but im only 20 and now im afraid of dying even more... please keep praying for speedy news.. thank you, Jeremy Norman

You know, most doctors will see people based on physical need, but sometimes you have to insist! Here is my experience - my husband did just fine after WLS, until the weekend before he was supposed to go back to work. He started having some pain and throwing up, to the point he could only keep a little water down. By Sunday, I called and got a resident on call for the surgeon, and persuaded him to order some Phenergan, just so he could get some relief from the heaving. He called the surgeon's office on Monday morning, and was basically "blown off' - Told to sit up straight when he ate and eat slower. I had my 6 month checkup with the surgeon the next day, so my DH went with me. We told the surgeon what was going on, and he said they would schedule an EGD. When we went to check out, the EGD was scheduled for 10 days out! I said, 'He will be inthe ER well before that, since he can't keep water down". They finally got the mesaage that this was SERIOUS and got him in the next day. When the surgeon (who also did his scope) came out to talk to me, he said, "Well, I don't think I will have to operate, but I did find an ulcer'. DH had to stay overnight in the hospital to make sure the bleeding stopped. Bottom line - Jeremy has to be pro-active and let this surgeon know he is deteriorating! Either that or see a different surgeon and make him understand the need for this surgery to be done ASAP for the best outcome. Good luck and God bless Sue

Sometimes putting pressure on your other doctors. Family doctor or cardiologist to see if they will call the surgeon with the urgency that is needed. Might help. Mary

I am sorry to be a downer but I started out at 500 lbs. The doctor, when He did finally see me (six months after my pcp sent a reference for me) told me I would have to lose 100 lbs before I could meet the surgeon. They said it is for my own safety that they won't do surgery if you weigh more than 400 lbs. They said it is too dangerous. I hope and pray that you can find a doctor who will help you and soon. Be strong and Be assertive. Becky Dombrosky

Becky, Thanks for the reply. Thankfully the surgeon Jeremy is to see does a lot of high risk patients. I know Kirk Thompson was one of them. I was lucky to just have surgery weighing almost 600 pounds. Hope you are doing well. Amy
