Help, I am 1 week post op and cannot find a meal replacement or protien powder that I can tolerate. Any ideas would be very welcomed. Thank you all.

Have you tried Choice DM? It is like Ensure but made for diabetics, so not a lot of sugar. It is usually found in grocery stores where the Ensure is. Please tell me you are eating (or drinking) as you were directed before surgery and not trying to subsist on protein powder or the like. Our dietician had us using Choice DM as part of our diet the first four weeks. Sue

I am trying to eat as I should. However I need something for calories and vitamans and also the protein. Having a lot of trouble with the taste and also diarrhea. Eating a lot of soup, sf jello and sf pudding.

I'm still preop till 9/14 but in our support group people mentioned an unflavored protein powder that can be mixed with other foods, at GNC. I priced these and believe I found one caparable at the Raisin Rack (also online) for less than $11 for approximately the same size. It's a soy based protein. Not sure if this is what you are looking for but thought it might help. Wish you well! God Bless! Kathy

It is so hard to recommend because everyone has different taste. Try shopping on line at bariatriceating.com. She sells samples of different protien powders that you can order. This allows you to try before buying the whole can. Best of luck on your journey.

P, I like the protein powder by Real Meals. You can get to them by visiting my home page of my site. The web address to my site is imnotfatanymore.com. Just put the 3 www's before that. You will see their link/banner on my Home Page. Good luck to you, and congratulations on being a loser now. Sandy Pierce

Hi there. I went to GNC and bought Nitro-tech. there are several favors to chose from. if you don't like it, you can take it back for a refund or to try another flavor. it can be alittle pricey but if you join their gold club you get 20% off. hope this helps. jennifer
