Fritsch's Restaurants
Just to let everyone know that the Fritsch's Restaurant chains no longer honor the food discount card that you receive after surgery, requesting to be charged for a senior or child price for a meal. I was very disturbed by this, since my husband and I have both had the surgery and always enjoyed going to Fritsch's once in awhile for the breakfast buffet. We would only get scrambled eggs and bacon, and maybe some fresh fruit. The manager at Fritsch's said they no longer honor the card, and we should order from the menu. Eggs and bacon are wonderful sources of protein, and I think it stinks that if I order from the menu, I'll either have to pay separate prices for an extra order of bacon or not get enough proteins in for my meal. Just wanted to pass this along.
I know it stinks, but no restaurant is obligated to accept the card and unfortunately, anybody can get one if they have internet access and a printer.
Could hubby get the buffet and you just order eggs and bacon and get him to sneak you a couple of pieces of bacon from the buffet.
I know, I know, it's not the right thing to do and personally I probably wouldn't as I've never used the card and have no intention of ever doing so.
Good Luck
Never thought about doing that...just doesn't seem right I know. Hubby had surgery also about 9 weeks ago...I had it 7 months ago. I'm just saying, they used to honor the card, now they don't. It was nice knowing that you didn't have to pay full price when you were getting so little. Thanks for responding back.
My DH and I have both had WLS. We sometimes have breakfast at Bob Evans, and order from the senior menu. They have "The Good Egg" which is one egg, and breakfast meat (I like sausage, and they give you 2 big sausage patties) and you also get biscuits. It's more than I can eat!I am almost 2 years, husband is about 1 1/2 years. Neither of us have ever used the card, even though we both have one. The other poster is right - I never thought about it, but anyone could print off a card and try to use it.
My in-laws are coming to town in a week and plan to take us to a brunch buffet. It makes me cringe because I know they want to go someplace nice, and my husband and I just can't eat that much anymore, so I feel like they are wasting money on us. My father-in-law is in his 70's and had the old small bowel bypass back in the 60's, so he can eat a normal amount. (He is in great health, by the way!)My mother-in-law is a *****unky, so I hope they aren't offended by the small amounts that we eat! Geez! Did I ever dream that not being able to eat a ton of food at a buffet would be a problem before I had WLS? LOL!
