Lap-Band Hummm

anyone here have lap band surgery? I want to know what the deal is with it. Help give me info. Thanks Krista

My niece is looking into it. Dr C is supposed to have a seminar on the 9th of September if enough interest is generated for it. I called this morning to register my niece and myself and the receptionist told me that they were playing it by ear. Maybe if enough of us call and register, he will have the seminar. My niece wanted to go to hear him because he is going to start offering the lap band in October.

Yes That is what makes me want to know if anyone else has had it done or not just to see what they like about it or if they do not like it. Thanks and I will call to see about that for sure. Krista

HI Krista, I had my lapband surgery on june 16th of this year. Within a week I was feeling better then I had in several years. I have lost 43 pounds as of a week ago. I have not had a fill yet, so I think I am doing very well thus far. I love the band and would pick this type of WLS in a heart beat. My only major band was from the gas they use to make your tummy area bigger... this settled in my upper back... like shoulder blade area. The more you get up and move.. walk... the faster this pain goes away. My port area was alittle painful too for about a week. I would just hold that area when I would stand or sit and even walk at times. I was back in the water for therapy 2 weeks after surgery.
