Denied a 2nd time

I am so frustrated that I just needed to vent a little. bcbs has denied me for the 2nd time and now I have to write a letter to my husbands employer. For gosh sakes!!!!! How many people have to know how miserable we feel being obese before they approve? It kind of feels like I'm on display and the whole world has to approve this surgery. The only thing really stopping me is a 6 months doctor supervised diet, which my pcp and I started in June. The ins can exclude that if the employer agrees. O.K. I feel better now and I will keep in the back of my mind that it's just going to be a while yet but, I will have what I want sooner or l later.Thanks for letting me vent. Sherry

Hi Sherry, I am new to the board...had to go through BCBS to get my surgery done. I went through three appeals over about 14 months and finally, I filed a complaint with the state of Ohio. They looked into it, sent my info to an Independent Review and the IR overturned BCBS denial! I had my surgery in April 2004, 18 months after I first saw the doctor. I see we live close by. I lived in Bellevue for several years. I miss it.
