Jewish Hospital?

Hi, Folks! I'm getting all my ducks in a row to approach my PCP about getting this done. I'm also attending a seminar at Jewish Hospital's Weight Loss Center this evening. Does anyone have any experience with them? Please share! I haven't spoken to any other doctors or facilities yet, other than Barix, who isn't covered under my insurance, so they are not an option for me. I have Anthem Senior Advantage. Needless to say, I want to find the best I can. This whole thing is scary enough as it is. Any feedback I can get will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sheila

Can't help you on the Jewish management thing. We had several people in the support groujp who had surgery there. Some successful some strugglers. We have several fine doctors in Cincinnati Dr Alexander at Christ, Dr Gersin at University Dr Kerlackian at Good Sam Dr Curry at Deaconess We have a great support group with lots of testimonials about their doctors jack wlsbutterflynetwork.org

Hi Sheila, Two people from a support group I talk to had their wls at Jewish today. I am sure they will be more than happy to share their experiences with you once they return. There are others there who have been to Jewish too. They are at imnotfatanymore.com. I am going to Deaconess with Dr. Curry and I know he has informational seminars pretty often if you wanted to attend one of them. It doesn't hurt to get educated before making big decisions. I did. I checked into a few doctors and their programs before deciding. His number at the hospital is 513-559-2545. They will give you dates and times. Good luck on your journey! If I can be of any help just email me. PJ wfad

I have Anthem too, and I had Dr. Alexander. He is a part of UC Physicians, but operates at Christ. He has been doing these surgeries longer than any other doctor in Cincinnati, and is also a transplant surgeon. I healed quickly from open rny, which I credit to him being such a good surgeon. Maybe attend the orientation for UC Physicians too. I attended a few orientation meetings, and learned alot from each one. I know the whole thing is scary! I was terrified, but it went fine, and I bet yours will too! Come join us at the wls Butterfly Support group if you can. We meet every other Friday at Bethesda Oak. Good luck in your journey. Well, I attended the seminar at Jewish and although it was tremendously informative, I discovered that Anthem Senior Advantage is not covered at Jewish Hospital. I had called and left a message for the U.C. group on the same day I called Jewish. No one ever called me back. I suppose that had me concerned that they would be unaccessible if I became a patient of theirs. Perhaps I should call again, as it may have just been a fluke. Thanks for the referrals. I am going to look into this butterfly group too! Sheila
