I am 10 days post op doing well on pureed foods, however i find when i eat or drink i get a mild case of the hiccups for appx. 10 minutes after eatting or drinkinig. I eat slow and drink appx. 1 oz every 10 minutes. Im not sure if im doing something wrong or if this is common. Also, has anyone found a site or store that sells the Whey Fruity for cheap? ( I love that stuff) Thanks for the help.

This is going to sound silly but you might be taking in too much air when you eat. It is important not only to eat slowly to allow for satiety-feeling of being full but to not let air in. I am a mouth breather so this has been a problem from the start for me.

I have been there done this. My hiccups were tellimng me I was full. One must learn the NEW messages fromn the body post op. Hiccups, sneazing and the such is the body saying OK your done eating now! At least thats the case for me... best wishes. Jim Open RNY 10/27/03 -175lbs

Donna, It usually is a sign that your drinking to fast. Are you using a straw? That is a no-no. That might be putting air in your belly. As for the protein, GNC, or vitalady.com, might be able to help you. Good luck in your journey. Just remember it gets easier everyday. Love, Sandy imnotfatanymore.com.
