Anyone is the Col area with Anthem Fed HMO BCBS?

I'm looking for someone to do my psych eval, the provider list has not been helpful, most of the ones listed don't do psych evals. This is my final pre-op appt needed. Sheila

I had the same problem and I found two....Dr. Kenneth Beavers (459-3003) and Lisa McCarthy (888-7211) I chose Lisa because she was the first one I called. The office is in Worthington. They didn't have any appts. until July but they put me on the cancellation list and could call any day. Also they verified with Anthem that it would just be my $10 copay!! Good luck! Oh..I have Anthem Blue Preferred, not sure if that makes a difference, but at least you've got some names to work with now

Thanks. I did find three providers. Dr. Althof, Dr. Gotthard and Sara Kriger. Dr. Althof doesn't have anything available until July and Dr. Gotthard can see you right away, but I have some reservations about him. I'm scheduled to see Sara Kriger Monday. Her number is 263-8538 if you are interested. This is my last step. I've had everything else done.

Dr. Gotthardt wrote my evaluation and did a wonderful and very fast job. He is a bit "scattered" but he really didn't charge me alot, my insurance covered most of it - so I was extremely thankful. (He didn't send mine out for grading which saved me $100.00 right there out of pocket.) I actually met him when he was working on his PHD at Ohio University. He taught a workshop, and I just liked him. He's definately a different guy, but I plan on going back for therapy with him after my surgery. If your reservation is that he might be a bit "flaky", well he kind of is, but he's a very big supporter of WLS - and I was happy to see him again. Sorry to be going on bout him, I just wanted to share my experience. -Anne

Just an FYI - If you are willing to drive to Dayton. The phsyc. that did my evalutation (for Anthem) got me in to see him in 10 days! My apt was just about an hour and it just cost my $10 copay. My results were sent over to my surgeon the very next day. I saw Dr. Wilbert - there were some write ups on him in the review a doctor section. Good Luck!
