Thank you everyone *****plied to my question about looking into a private facility vs. a public hospital and about how you came to choose a surgeon. Your input was very very helpful. This board is great for going to the source....the patients!!! Anyway, I am pretty certain that I am going to go with Barix Clinics. They have sent me their information and I am just amazed at how complete their program is. I know that some of you expressed reservations about going to a private facility because of potential complications, however I have learned that they do extensive screening to learn whether or not I would be a high risk candidate or not. I.E. they don't take unnecessary risks!! I value that very much. Thank you again!! Gretchen

gretchen...i think you will be quite pleased with them...when i went for initial consult i was amazed at how thoroughly they DO check into one's medical history--and almost taken back by the idea of them not accepting me! it makes perfect sense tho to be sure that one is a good candidate for surgery.... tho i was and am post op now- let us know who your doc is and how your consult goes and ---details girl! continued good luck to you! margo open r n y 3/26/04 dr victor stelmack( the best!!!!)
