Home from hospital

I came home today after being admitted to hospital. My blood level had gone down to 7.7 from 8.8 last Monday. They cannot find the bleeding so they send me home and if I start bleeding again , I am to go to ER and tell them to admit me. Medical Science is indeed a wonder. THey will then schedule exploratory surgery. Meanwhile I have had 8 units of blood in 5 weeks. And today of all days I dumped. First time in several months. I wasn't being careful. That's a greta idea. Maybe I could get a TT if I go in so many times. I have to see the oral surgeon to get a tooth(teeth removed) I am going to ask him about doing a TT while I am out and he is working on the teeth. I will get that TT yet.

Yikes! Are you feeling better? I hope so.... What other tests have they done...what do you other blood counts look like?

H/H count is low. There are some liver things that are slightly abnormal. Have to see Dr next week. Everything else was within normal limits or going back to normal limits

I would start getting light headed when I stood up. Then I would start passing black and then red BM's. My hemocrit level hovers around 10-11. The normal is 14. I have had 8 units of blood in the last 5 weeks. I am thinking of seeing a different surgeon at this point

Jack, Hate to hear your having difficulties. I think switching doctors would be something I would do at this point. Good luck! Sandy
